The NRA Home Firearm Safety Course is one of the most basic yet important courses to take. This course reaches out to all those aspiring to shoot, and the non-shooter who just may live in a household where firearms are present. The goal of this course in to teach the basic knowledge and skills, and to explain the attitude necessary for safe handling and storage of guns in the home. The NRA Home Firearm Safety Course in a NON-SHOOTING course, so there is no need to feel intimidated by loud gunfire.
This course is great for anybody who practices disarming an assailant, as it picks up where firearms retention leaves off. After the class you will know exactly what to do to render a firearm useless once you have gained control of it.
We consider this course instrumental for any family members who live in a house with firearms. Because we feel so strongly about this one adult is allowed to attend free with their children.
In this course we will cover:
- RULES FOR SAFE GUN HANDLING
- Identifying and UNLOADING different firearms
- Practical exercises in Safe Gun Handling
- Types of Ammunition; Cleaning and Storage of Firearms
Each student will receive the NRA’s HOME FIREARM SAFETY STUDENT PACKET. This packet includes the NRA’S Home Firearm Safety Handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, NRA Basic Firearm Training Program brochure and Basic Home Firearm Safety Course Completion Certificate.
STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BRING THEIR OWN FIREARMS INTO THE CLASSROOM.

Courses only open to U.S. Citizens or Non-U.S. citizens who are: (1) lawful permanent residents (e.g., green card holders), (2) refugees, or (3) individuals who have been granted asylum.
Visa holders (Work, Travel, Ect.) are not eligible for any courses involving firearms.
